Mark your calendars folks – you don't want to miss celebrating "College Football Day." Proper observance of the holiday – a reflection of respect for its spiritual significance and meaning for the individual soul writ large – includes casting off all worldly cares and endeavors days before and committing one's self to a quiet period of reflection and pondering. Also, don't forget to venture out into the forest and cut down your own "School Spirit" tree. Then gather your loved ones and, together, trim its verdant branches with relics of seasons past. As they hang their football cleats from the mantel of the fireplace, entertain your children with recitations of poems about "Jolly Ol' Saint Knute Rockne" and his magical equipment sleigh pulled by "The Four Horsemen." But above all, don't forget the real reason for the season – taking time out of our hectic lives to remember the importance of wiping the field with the backsides of our rivals.

I propose moving summer vacation from June thru August to September thru November. And making it mandatory for not just schoolchildren, but all US businesses.
